Apple has a VERY loyal customer base & brand recognition, but should not be arrogant, or ignorant to the fact that a smartphone is just a smartphone.


If you have any data that shows a smartphone is just a smartphone to Apple's installed base, I would love to see it.

Upgrade rates are certainly lengthening, but I have yet to see data showing the loyalty rate dropping. The Kantar survey that Cook cited is US only so perhaps it is happening but I have yet to hear any numbers. Until that happens, a smartphone is not just a smartphone for Apple's installed base.
