Boeing has known for decades, just like the car manufactures. Don't worry, electric cars are going to ramp up fast as battery costs continue to plummet. Transport aircraft comes a few decades after that. I just took a flight a couple months ago in a pure electric 2 place aircraft that will be used for flight training. It's pretty slick. No more oil and gas leaking out on the ground. A good replacement for the old Cessna 150 and 152's. No more FF bills for expensive 100LL aviation fuel.
