I'm glad you gave me the opportunity to bring it to your attention.

You can see that Corel's involvment with JAVA began in just the manner you suggested appropriate. A couple of "skunkworks" practice excercises to give some programmers a little experiences with a new language. Pilot programs, if you will.

And then .."along came Jones" er ..Cowpland with a better idea. NOT.

There is no question where the blame resides. And SUNW is not without fault. JAVA is not wonderful today, and it was much worse a year ago.
They have been late repeatedly.

Lotus' e-suite was due for release last October. even with all the IBM resources it'll be next month (maybe).

And 1.1 won't run yet on the VNC. There is no excuse. Sun should have at least a dozen software engineers on loan to Corel right now in Ottawa and Utah to make bloody sure that JAVA will fly on that machine.
