Why? I mean who's printing out huge photographs? Photographs are things people post on the internet. They're good enough pretty much. They are certainly good enough in a well lit environment but there is definitely progress to be made in areas with low light. An optical zoom is also something that many would like to have and would be wideliy used. Picture quality is one feature that does make a real difference in people's experience with their smartphones and so impovements will matter to at least a portion of Apple's installed base. I'm not looking at this triggering some massive upgrade cycle but even small improvements to their upgrade rate are meaningfull. Apple probably has 500 million active iPhone's so a 2% increase translates to an extra 10 million units. Slacker
