One thing you guys might not remember: Sinoval vs AMSC

The basic story (from my admittedly imperfect memory) is Sinoval was building wind turbine generators for AMSC using AMSC's advanced designs. AMSC was doing quite well on the deal.

At a certain point Sinoval and AMSC split the sheets and Sinoval kept building turbines using AMSC's technology.

The truth is AMSC is screwed on this one... its pretty doubtful if they'll ever be compensated for this blatant theft of intellectual property that was stolen with the tacit approval of the Chinese government.

I've always felt that one of the aims of China was to steal Apple's technology. Phones are big business. They want that business.

This iTunes thing is a tactical part of a larger strategy they have to eventually take over the phone business in China. They're doing that with cars right now too.
