It was Nader running as a progressive third-party candidate in the Green party that defeated Gore. No one disputes that. He should've run in the Democratic primary like Bernie did. And then when he won or lost supported the candidate. It was nuts of him to run as a third-party candidate anyway. Sort of shows both what an egomaniac he was and how nuts he was.

Lincoln won because the conservatives split the party. In Alaska probably half of all the wins we've ever had on the Democratic side has been because the right-wing either split their party vote, by running someone in the independent or libertarian party, or as often as not they run someone just too crazy even for the right-wing-lol.

So you can't say it was Nader running as a progressive. Well, as you say, you can-lol., but it would be wrong. You have to say it was him running as a third-party progressive candidate on the Green party ticket that defeated Gore..

That is a significant distinction.
