Brumar, If you believed your own crap about an ongoing carbon catastrophe, you wouldn't drive and fly on FF's. Most of these climate-changey zealots think that, by reducing their own "carbon footprint" on the order of 1%, they're saving the planet.
Meanwhile, they still fly around on commercial jets, drive to their parties, and continue living modern lifestyles that would not be possible without energy from fossil fuels.
They still commute 60-90 minutes each way to work instead of moving to a place within walking distance.
They still turn up the heat and the air conditioning in their single-family homes instead of reducing their own living space.
They still enjoy the benefits of refrigeration keeping their food nice and fresh when much of the world still has to make do with other ways to preserve food (spices, curing, etc.).
They use all the electronic devices available to them, because you know, they need to get their left-wing Occupy Democrat memes fed to their brains.
They still take their completely unnecessary trips to Napa, Burning Man, Colorado (cause pot is legal there), and every single Democrat/Occupy/Soros rally imaginable.
