Well, don't you think they have a goodly chunk of that already (at least in the home market), what with the likes of Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, etc. in the fray? They certainly aren't going to own it all, not even SS could do that.

The thing with technology in the phone space is it's moving so fast that stealing anything gives the thief a dubious advantage at best, IMHO. Apple designs its own processor and I don't how China is going to steal that. Even if it did, said processor would be obsolete fairly quickly. The A10 is waiting in the wings, even as I type. Besides, each iPhone that is shipped is essentially a black box; there is no sharing of technology or intellectual property for the Chinese partner to steal, unlike in the case you cited.
