History does tend to repeat. It's just that it doesn't repeat exactly

Of course you're right about this but how else should you play things? We have a capacity called "learning". A pattern of behavior tends to predict future behavior better than predicting the opposite behavior. With AMD we have a well established pattern. It's the same thing with Intel. Intel has been more or less range bound for years. It's perfect for writing options. For AMD we have a pattern of misleading promises followed by failure to deliver. We also have a pattern with the AMD Faithful. No matter how many times they are lied to they will believe the next promise. That's what we are seeing now with the recent share price strength. Optimism with nothing but promises to base it on. Now that doesn't guarantee Zen will be a failure but there is nothing tangible from AMD to show they've changed their pattern and nothing from the Faithful to show they've changed theirs. So being detached and unemotional, how else do you play it unless you just want to gamble?
