A lady I know bought one. Based on this thin representative sample, after all she fits a lot of the stereotype when it comes to her spending habits, I deduce that it has a lot to do with a willingness to get into the nuts and bolts research prior to the purchase. She would look at the price and a representation of the advertised promise, then buy it. Guys, on average, would be more likely to be skeptical of the advertised claims, read a few reviews first, and the weigh in with their dollars based on their own perceptions.

But, that's just my opinion based on very limited data and a lot of conjecture.
