You know me better than that. I know what a lie is and so do you. It is a word I almost never utter because I believe it to be one of the most sacred and serious ideas in human nature. A lie is an attempt to deceive, whether it is verbal, by action, or by omission. Having a different perspective or opinion has nothing to do with it. Having and expressing inaccurate information is not lying, it is being mistaken. Exaggerating or using colorful language for effect is not lying, it is being provocative. Attempts at jocularity may fail and even cause hard feelings but they aren't lies. We don't consider things like magic tricks, games of strategy, or comedic presentations to be lies because we accept ahead of time the premise to be misdirection or brain twisters set up for entertainment value.

Lying is common among folk who are trying to make some undeserved gain and politics is rife with it. What you presented me, however, are examples of 'Chain Yanking,' which I agree he is well known for but I don't think it rises above/below that level. I have viewed his posts for decades and am not aware of a single deliberate attempt at lying.
