John, Thanks regarding 8 micro eV in cdmaOne compared with several eV for ultraviolet light. So 1 cdmaOne photon has about 1 million times less energy than one uv photon. Even if skin is specially cancer resistant, and white people's isn't, it suggests 1900 MHz cdmaOne photons are a million times safer than ultraviolent ones.
Interestingly, there is a correlation between lymphoma and skin cancer, which I guess is because sun damage contributes to both. Of course it could be because a compromised immune system means susceptibility to both.
I guess those opposed to cellphone towers and cellphones for health reasons are not as rabid in their opposition to exposure to uv. I bet they even enjoy white shirts in uv light at night, have a nice sit in the sun, take their children to the beach, maybe even use a sunbed on occasion.
The fear of cellphones is due to lack of trust of authorities, experts and big companies. Plus quantum mumbo jumbo isn't easy for people to understand, so they disbelieve. Claims of zero effect should not be made when there is some undefined extremely low level of risk.
If I'm one that IKM doesn't read because of long rambling ho-hum prose, fine. He doesn't need to read it! Zero time lost. Of course his post was totally off topic, being an off topic post about being off topic, but let's not quibble.
And Jim, sorry if you think me a know it all. I do my best! No prizes for being wrong or ignorant, but I have plenty of ignorance to spare if you want some; on any topic. That's why I put my bit in - so others can show me where I'm wrong. Or was your post just another one off-topic? I bet you are just envious of my barn full of sheep. But you're right, I do need a nice relax on a sailboat.
One sleep then it's 1998! Here anyway. Photonic wave functions tomorrow in New Zealand - looks like a great day for sun, sea, boating, barbecues, and enjoying life. Hopefully 1998 is more sedate than 1997. I need recovery time. Maybe NOTHING will happen in 1998. Now that would be good. Wouldn't it?
Thanks for your comments John - great stuff.
