Unprecedented wildfire happening there up in the oil sands area... trees are adapted to a climate that existed 50 years ago. The extreme conditions of recent have brought about these fires and it's a wonder if they'll recover. Because of the extreme dryness, the burn has been thorough enough that there'll probably be large swaths of lifeless land. The forests can't handle it.
