If any Unix server vendor deserves to be a Unix steward, Sun has to be the one since it has declared Unix or Death for its future. That commitment has to impress a few other companies already with some not-too-irrelevant partnerships. I sure hope that Solaris will emerge as the torch-bearer for Unix vs. NT. Everyone will benefit - not the least of those would be HP and SGI. They both would also be able to tap into an economy of scale on Unix in addition to NT. -Al
