| Flex/Vid, AD has consolidated all his power over ariad. And yes, nobody here and perhaps in all other ariad boards are in the know of what would happen to ariad short term or long term, that I agree 100%. He, in fact, could steer this company anywhere he wants and every which way he could, now that he has control of the BOD. Knowing the potential of its drugs and its great lab, the only problem he has is getting the resources to extend the runway to finance the clinical trials. But looking at his credentials, he was a major player in the Carl Icahn enterprise not too long ago before he built his own hedge fund. The big difference then and now is that then during his tenure with Carl, it was a point and click(buy it and sell for a quick profit) strategy. With the 'now', it is quite different with VVUS and ARIA. With VVUS, he wan't able to get out and sp went downhill. With ariad, he could have doubled his money right away with cost basis of 3s/4s but I think he saw a lot of potential with its pipeline and its great lab. Now, the greed factor kicked in and he is holding toward a grand payday. I can't blame him, I'd do the same if I were him. I think that he thinks that the worst is over for aria. It's just a matter of executing his plans....jmo. |
