FP:<<<HAIL Michigan>>> I'll second that one, the home of the Breakast of Champions, Champions of the West( I guess thats because they are West of Lake Erie) Regarding Ian's URL ref on net sales, and others comments on Dell being just another box maker: news.com Much of Dell's success has been due to his original and inovative approach to sales, which began in 1993 with avoidance of the store sales and continues today with on-line sales. The volume of sales by Dell beginning with $1 mil, then $2 mil, now up to $6 mil has cast a positive spell on the whole concept. A year ago nay-sayers said that people would not buy without touch and feel, that there was limit of 10% or 20% could be sold on-line. The whole Web has benefitted from Dell's demontration, and today the talk is not about limits, but the fact that companies both small and big will have to go on-line to remain competitive. The result is a huge increase in web traffic and URL's by companies seeking the big bucks. The Web is a runaway train, technical companies that participate in building the structure have an almost unlimited market ........ Although AOL and YAHOO may be unprofitable at the moment, that type of company will "be there" and get paid for their efforts when the money pours in, and I would not short either stock. ( I merely write this BS, nobody has to read it)(gggggg) Where is Venkie and his 'HELLO' and 'COVERRRRRRRRR'(HeHeHe)??? Japan,Hong Cong, Malasia, and Globex are all well up,Europe is all in the black. Looks like a good day Sig |
