More storms for California. kesq.com

Strong Rossby waves = strong gradients. Weather loves gradients. The U.S. will continue to see big variations this month. As the tropical Pacific exits the strongest El Nino in 18 years, global cooling will occur. With the cooling, we'll continue to see extreme Rossby waves. I'll stress, this is the exact opposite of expectations with global warming. These extremes are occurring as the oceans cool.

The biggest extremes and (thus) biggest severe weather will occur along Mississippi River and Rocky Mountains. I'll stress the set-up...the Mississippi River region will have severe weather and big temperature swings this month.
