50 years from now we will no longer raise animals for food, and 100 years from now people will look back on us and judge us for murdering animals and eating their flesh. They will judge us harshly for knowing better yet continuing to eat animals.

That line of thinking is the same as judging our founding fathers who knew better but still owned slaves. It was acceptable at the time and that's how they should be judged. It is acceptable to eat meat today and that's how we should be judged.
