LOL. I hadn't read far enough down the article to see the maple syrup. I posted it because it described the relationship between the glycemic index and fructose.

I never developed a taste for maple syrup. Having grown up on the Aunt Jemima version (which is all HFCS and worse), I was disappointed by the real thing. Received a bottle of it as a gift from someone's vacation, tried it twice, then threw it away.

If you use just a little bit of sweetener, I doubt it matters much what you use. I don't use much, either. I have a number of sweeteners in my cupboard, having tried everything out there. Mostly I use liquid stevia at home and liquid sucralose when out and about to sweeten my tea. (The latter comes in cute little bottles that fit nicely in a pocket. <g>)
