Dale Corman is pleased to announce that Thomas C. Patton is joining the Company's Board of Directors and will become its President and Chief Operating Officer effective January 1, 1998. As a consequence, Mr. Corman has been appointed Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive officer. Dr. Patton brings a wealth of experience to the Company. Prior to joining the Company, Dr. Patton was the Managing Director, South American Region, Rio Tinto Mining and Exploration Ltd. and was responsible for exploration in Chile, Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil and Ecuador. Prior to his appointment with Rio Tinto, Dr. Patton was Senior Vice President, Exploration and Business Development for Kennecott Corporation and was responsible for developing exploration programs and business opportunities in Canada, United States, Mexico and Central America. In this capacity, Dr. Patton was responsible for Kennecott's early stage entry in the Lac de Gras, Northwest Territories diamond play, which ultimately led to a major diamond discovery for Kennecott. Prior to his employment with Rio Tinto and Kennecott, Dr. Patton worked as an independent Geological Consultant and Exploration Supervisor and Project Geologist for Exxon Minerals Company. Concurrent with his appointment, Dr. Patton has been granted a stock option to purchase up to 200,000 of the Company's shares, in accordance with the terms of the Company's 1996 Amended Stock Option Plan, for a period of five years. Western Copper Holdings Limited (''Western'') is an exploration company, which is currently developing the Carmacks copper oxide deposit in the Yukon and is actively exploring for base and precious metals in the State of Zacatecas in Central Mexico. Western has recently, in joint venture with Teck Corporation, made a significant zinc, copper, gold and silver discovery in Zacatecas. Western also holds mineral rights to over 1,500 square kilometers in the State of Zacatecas.
