Kunal, your points are all legitimate, and acrue to PTSC's favor.

However, what you said is far different than the inaccurate sound-bite that the "PSC1000 executes Java byte code". Everything that you said is correct. The sound-bite isn't.

Why does this matter? Because if a small JIT compiler is good, NO JIT compiler is better! There *will* be processors that do not require a JIT compiler, and I suppose when that happens they are going to have to use the term "true Java processor", "true native execution" etc. to distinguish themselves from those who have made similar claims but don't really live up to them.

The PSC1000 may well be a good choice for many designs right now. (But, where are those design wins?) Patriot may well manage to keep up and come out with future processors that provide true native Java execution. But none of these positive attributes renders false claims true, and it's this overblown hype that has me concerned that there is less here than meets the eye.
