Herb, Walmart has their own phone pay system, called Walmart Pay. In theory it can support Apple Pay but Walmart isn't willing to do that. Don't blame Walmart for wanting something faster than credit cards. I've read that the new credit cards with chips can take up to 20 seconds to process. Way too slow! Visa is supposed to be working (with who I don't know) on a new technology that can this processing time by 18 seconds, according to Jim Cramer.ni think that Apple Pay will eventually become the gold standard for phone pay systems, as more and more stores adopt it for its speed and security.
