I'm not very knowledgeable on PSQL, but my company uses Great Plains, and we have come to think of it as 'Great Pains' because it's so terrible. We're moving away from it now.

As for direct or indirect, I think direct, *if you have good sales mgmt and reps*, is best for a company PSQL's size, but channel will become more important once they are 3-5x bigger. That's been my experience in every company I've ever worked for.
