Relatively new. China/India are largest market for having people living there, but not for living standards or at least (disposable income to buy an $800 phone).

If they are losing market share or is stagnant in US or EU (are they?), then why would they think they can take the larger share in China or India? or are they just trying to get a smaller portion of the market?
