Hi Joe,(off topic)

I've been watching the news shift gradually over the last few weeks from end of the world crash to full speed ahead. I think there was a lot of big money that was disapointed that there was not enough inflation to justify a rate hike and instead focused on Asia to induce the panic sell off. I'm fairly new to this game but I watched it happen last March and although the names have been changed, this looked the same. I have a great deal of respect for Paul and Dwights' opinions and have spent most of the last month trying to reduce my level of igonorance on economic issues. As close as I can tell it's a subject that would require a 4 year degree plus a few years of practical experience to fully understand. Just another area where I will have to accept a fuzzy laymans level of understanding, and muddle along as best I can.

Recent news and Wall Street reactions seem to me to be out of proportion. This may be a stupid question this late in the game but when the Nikkei drops 300 points they are talking about yens aren't they? Or about $2.25 US? Then the DJIA drops $150 in sympathy on the headlines!!!

I shifted my investments to an area that I felt would be less exposed to Asia, and have managed to get clobbered pretty good in the last few weeks. If it weren't for my belief that the Anals are probably off by almost a buck on their estimates things would be looking pretty black right now.

January is going to be interesting. Fund money rolling in and earnings coming out. Happy New Year (I hope).

Regards,

Don
