Spoke with the company today.....

I was starting to wonder if this operation was disintegrating. I was told the following:

1. The company is viable and progressing on schedule. Their profit outlook remains consistent with that stated in the prospectus: 1998 will be break-even/small profit; 1999 will be profitable.

2. Starting in January, 1998, the company will make two announcements a month. These announcements will contain substantial and precise details about favorable changes in worldwide regulations etc. which will prove favorable towards sales of Univec's products. When pressed, the spokesman indicated these will NOT be the sort of airbag statements made in ~July of this year (at that time the company had a press release stating they couldn't understand why the shares were tanking...). Thus this spokesman suggested a string of positive press releases is to be expected.

3. The Long Island manufacturing plant is operating 24h/day to produce sufficient products. Meeting demand no longer appears to be a problem.

4. The company has suffered from a lack of support/publicity due to the bankruptcy of one of its underwriters. The spokesman claimed the stock continues to have 17 market makers.

Time will tell.
