You know, "he knows when you've been sleeping, he knows when you're awake, he knows if you've been bad or good . . .", so I am sure it will not surprise you to know that I am so disappointed that you have referred to this thread with that hideous, and of course absolutely untrue phrase, DOUBTFUL LOGIC!!
I am SO hurt, Freddy, particularly because of your assertion that no one here offers any defense of the barbarity in nontheistic cultures (please correct me if I am misinterpreting you). Del and I have both gone to great lengths to try to make you understand that the atheism in the Soviet Union was part of a chain reaction to horrible abuses of the peasants under their religion historically, and also that the Nazis were quite religious. Of course it would be helpful to remember here as well the complicity by the Catholic Church in France with the Nazis, which of course the Vatican acknowledged this year. I am sure you are sick of my mentioning that!!!
Anyway, religious debates aside, did you have a merry holiday? You know, as I recall you are a wonderful Southern cook, and it would make me very happy if you posted your recipes for classics like gumbo and jambalaya, or whatever you think is just wonderful, because I'm not very happy with the ones I have found in cookbooks, and know yours must be much better.
