Dulane U. Ponder. Re: Intc/CPQ. I'm also long both stocks. I agree that Intel is harder to guess. They have lost some control over pricing short term, until Merced comes on the scene. Also the BTO phenomonon is cutting revenues short term as inventories of chips in the channel are squeezed. Finally, consolidation among PC mfger's is leaving some of the 2nd tier group with more inventory than they can sell at a profit short term.

All 'n all I think CPQ is a better bet in the short run than Intc for additional money, and I have been adding to my CPQ position lately.

We'll see.
