Kevin: Re: Meaningless PROC name "NTX592D0" I can help you with that one. "N" is the one character code for the application. In this case, it's Payroll ("P" was already taken for the "Query system", which had to use something other than "Q", which was already taken for the portfolio "Quotes" application). "T", of course, means "Test", implying that this is a testing procedure to be used for ad hoc validation of software changes. The "P"roduction procedure hasn't been fiddled with in years. "X" means this procedure is intended to run after 23 other procs with similar names (A-W). "592" means this is Version 5, Release 9, Mod 2 of this particular proc. Almost time for somebody to create Version 6, I guess. "D" means this job is intended to run during the "D"ay shift, and the "0" frequency means that it is only run by special request. So, good news ... payroll application, run on request ... it's bonus time! Too bad it's only a test. TED
