HUDSON, N.H., Dec. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Presstek, Inc. (Nasdaq: PRST - news) today in response to shareholder inquiries, stated that a recent article appearing in Barron's on December 29 incorrectly characterized the Company's relationship with Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG, as well as the continuing viability of Presstek's product line.
The Company reiterated its previously announced statement that its business relationship with Heidelberg is sound, and includes not only continuing manufacturing efforts, but new product development projects which will carry the alliance well into the next century. Presstek expects to ship its 1,000th Quickmaster DI imaging system in early 1998.
In addition, Presstek continues to succeed in finding new applications for its proprietary Direct Imaging technology, including the recently announced Development and Supply Agreement with Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd., which involves the use of Presstek's technology for both on-press and off-press applications. Both Fuji and Presstek expect to expand this relationship in the future.
The Company's relationships with such partners as Alcoa, Imation, Sakurai Graphic Systems, Scitex, and others demonstrate the strength of its products, technology, and expanding intellectual property portfolio.

of words like "sound", "continuing", "new" .
(Hmm 1000 in early 98 -- 1st qtr then ?? end of 3rd qrt was 750
and now 1000, thats 4-5 months or 50-62/month yup, worst case
would be 40 if they shipped on last day of qtr.
And no mention about Delta V ???
And, news release on tuesday, will have to check if there
is another patent released today, tuesdays the day for those
things. The peel-away plate is intriquing.
