Pete, That is an excellent story about ASND and management. I know fo good stories about management. I am friends with all the local ISPs in Erie and the Meadville area to my "expertise" in the Mac operating system and the lack of familiarity by the owners/operators of the ISPs. I was well aware on the TNT software glitch last summer when it was only rumored. The Toolcity ISP uses the MAX TNT for dial-up. There were two units dead on arrival and one with certain modem slots that did not function. ASND management sent their tech reps to deliver a "tested" unit and to pick up the dead ones. Their main focus was keeping the customer happy and this ISP just bought another MAX TNT. My point is high tech will have glitches and it is difficult to deal with them without answers to the problem. ASND did a great job considering the size of the problem and the size of the company. Lawyer reform? Yeah, I agree. The truth is that for every slimeball who wants to scrape some money out of a deep pocket, there is an attorney somewhere that will gladly help him out (for a slight additional charge, thank you.) Handling this stuff is not the major concern of the company. It's a yapping dog running along side the train. You handle it as best you can and you move on. When a company's stock tanks, expect the yapping dogs. I did not check yourt profile for your line of work. I own retail jewelry stores and you have no idea how many of these slimeballs will write threatening letters and not even follow up. The reasons for letters very. They seem to feel having Attorney at Law on their letterhead makes them something to fear. Most have grammatical errors in their letters and incorrect points of law. Glenn
