Of course, Apple users know it's a lot more than that, but those who don't use Apple don't think of it as more.
I don't agree. The same is true of any Android phone. We call them phones because we don't have a better term, but actual phone functionality is way down on the list of uses for most users. And whether iPhone is better than Galaxy is debatable and what competition is all about.

The Apple Watch hasn't sold up to its market potential either, because it's never been explained to the public that it is MORE THAN JUST A WATCH

How can you say that? Have you seen Apple Watch ads? Everybody knows that it is more than just a watch.
