A lot of people think that Trump's trade policies do not stand scrutiny. But I think that making gods of economists goes against history and common sense. Economics attempts to be mathematical but it cannot. With liars and cheaters the equation is unknown, and we only see the top of the iceberg.

The truth is that Communist nations violate every precept of open trade. Trade begins at the level of labor. And the Communist elite loot labor resources and the product of their laborers. One can choose to trade with a looter or not. But if one chooses to trade with a looter, it ought to be on a case by case basis where conditions are put in place to level the playing field.

Where force and manipulation are the economic tools, it is absurd to rely on some economic theory. You don't carry a knife to a gunfight. Communism is an extortion ring ran by criminals. Any trade conducted with criminals needs to put self-interest in the most realistic and honest spotlight. Slogans and aphorisms don't work.
