And (as you know I'm sure) there is no gun show loophole since the rules there are the same as the rules anywhere else.

Also even if some mass murderer had gotten his gun from a gun show, if somehow that was made impossible its not like it would have been likely to stop the shooting. Typically these shootings are not spur of the moment deals, the shooter thinks about them for a long time, and would have found some other way to get a gun.
