My, how you squirm when cornered. I can't help but notice you decided to argue semantics rather than the main thrust of my post.

I will grant you that "middle class" is hard to define. By some measures, I am no longer in the middle class. I actually have no problem with that, I have far more resources at my disposal than most of the people I have known in my life. But, ok. Point taken. So change the references to "the middle class" and substitute "anyone who isn't a member of the top 10%, 1% or smaller demographic". It doesn't change my post at all.

The fact of the matter is that the Republican leadership does not really care about anyone but their oligarch masters. While they may wave their hands about the culture wars and try to snare the non-oligarchs in that bit of mental masturbation, when the rubber meets the road they are going to push things that are actively harmful to the non-oligarchs. At least the Democrats, who are just as bad about dropping to their knees for the oligarchs, occasionally take a break from blowing the overlords and doing something for the bulk of the country.
