I like Paul Mirengoff, but he's missing the point. It's not that Hannity (and other Trump-supporting conservatives) have abandoned all conservative beliefs. It's that they have come round to an Ann Coulterish point of view, where PC and immigration loom so large as issues that other things can take a back burner. Though to be fair, pure partisanship does play a role.

But as far as I can see, the only place where Trump has directly broken with "conservative orthodoxy" is in foreign policy, where he is less interventionalist than the neocons. However, he is for the restoration of American influence in the world. He just wants to renegotiate the terms. On most other issues, Trump is being deliberately vague, since he knows emotion persuades, not issues. This has generated an amazing amount of hand-wringing and hysteria on all sides.
