CYMER VISIT: I was in Calf. for the holidays and stopped by Cymer. I e-mailed ahead of time but was denied an inside tour. Undaunted, I made a physical appearance on DEC 16 th and did not get past the receptionist desk. "there all at lunch.." I did glance at the sign in book and from 7 am to 11:30 about a dozen visitors had checked in, 5 were from ASMLF and one other from National Semi. The others had no company designation next to their names. I spoke with a worker bee outside the building. Cymer actually has 4 or 5 buildings scattered about the park they designate them CSD#1 etc. I asked her if she enjoyed working at CYMI and without hesitation said yes. She also said her bosses were cool and that she had just started two weeks ago. She like the training. She had worked at other places where she had to pay for the training herself and do it on her own time.She then asked my if I would like a job here. I found out Cymer has an aggressive referral program. Employees can win a free trip for two to Jamaica,cash rewards and prizes by referring friends to openings at Cymer. Cymer publishes a monthly news letter called the "ILLUMINATOR" It gives a company-wide update of Cymer's goings on. I picked up all the back issues (it only goes back to April 97). I asked if I could be on the mailing list. I would suggest those who are interested call/ e-mail IR and inquire also. Some items of interest culled from the ILLUMINATOR issues: Taiwanese customers with installed DUVs: Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Group (TSMC) UMC Promos Nanya Vangaurd Macronics Mosel Vitalic ERSO Korean customers with installed DUVs: Samsung Hyundai LG Semiconductor I find it striking with all the talk of the Korean crisis that Taiwan is noticalblely not mentioned and Cymer's customer list is much longer there. The road to DUV may not go through Korea but Taiwan ? I would have posted sooner but lacked Internet access at the time. A prosperous 98 to all, Denis
