At the risk of being pelted with rotten fruit, I thought I'd interject here.
I am an ANCR shareholder and am very disappointed with the recent performance. But I can't say that I'm at a loss to explain it. The FC sector is growing slower than expected, ANCR missed a couple of really big deals this year, their earnings are still well in the red, and they are getting increased competition (or at least perceived competition) from Brocade.
This does not, to me, paint the picture of a stock that is just about to rebound. It's one thing to have made lots of money and have a nice track record and then hit some turbulence, even extreme turbulence (i.e. COMS). It's quite another to never make any money and get further and further away from making any.
I think that ANCR has some strengths, and there is some hope for the future of the FC market. This is part of the reason why I haven't sold my shares, but another reason is that they have fallen in value so far, to sell at this point would only leave me with enough money for a few rounds of drinks to drown my sorrows. I too am hoping for some short-term strength in the stock upon year end, but more than that I'm hoping for some solid revenue to start flowing in 1998.
