I think my beliefs are rational and make sense. Something outside of the universe (and therefore supernatural) was behind the origin of the universe. We also see life is based on information processing. It's rational to believe there is an intelligence behind these things.

And as to whether this intelligence is a "personal being" what impersonal intelligence would we be talking about? A computer? Humans make artifacts that embody intelligence but behind them is a human mind ie a personal being. All intelligence we have knowledge of is based on a person's mind.

Would an intelligent being (or whatever you posit) cause a universe which eventually housed intelligent beings be uninterested in the created beings? Doesn't make sense to think so. If there's intelligence behind the universe we inhabit and are a part of, it makes to sense to believe it's interested in us.
