"...I wish I knew something about how you would moderate this board..." - ZZeus

@ZZeus and everyone:

I have no objection to someone else who would be a good mod for this board taking up the role. I told Dmitry that I would be pleased to offer assistance to another mod when necessary, but it appears the boards here have one person only as "Emcee".

I would like to see the same type of discussion continue as it did at Goldbugs' Gulch and The GoldVille Report. SI has to have the final say, but as we have seen they are flexible enough to allow political discussion here, "as long as it doesn't swamp the board". That will require good judgment, impartiality, and the exercise of restraint since over-moderation can be as destructive to forums as misbehaviour. The political element shouldn't be a problem for SI as long as people aren't making vituperative personal attacks against each other (which is really a separate issue, IMHO).

The members at Voy had on the whole a friendly and constructive atmosphere - hopefully, that same will continue with new members joining at SI. We will certainly need someone to keep an eye out for the junk spammers, of the "my room mate Mary Is getting paid on the internet...", shoes for sale, far eastern construction company, pump and dump etc. types.
