WileE (if indeed the same) and others are in a thread at www.quicktopic.com, it seems the linear format there is providing very strong competition to that at SI. I find the lack of a preview, and the inability to show images full size (even if only say 700 pixels wide) without going through a thumbnail to be annoyances over there, yet it is true that the options for linear viewing of multiple posts here in SI leave a lot to be desired. You can't say it reduces advertising exposure, because SI can just put in an ad every N posts - probably do, because there are ads in the middle of blocks of 10. I'd consider viewing options of the type members have asked for here would be a good thing to put on SI's software TODO list, and could also enhance the experience for other SI users.
