Obummer needs to fire his FBI Director for contradicting the CIC. It might screw up Obomber's $100,000,000,000 arms sale to the terrorist Saudis. +++
Obama Says Orlando Shooter Was ‘Homegrown’ Terrorist Saudi Arabian officials also said Omar Mateen twice visited the kingdom on pilgrimages By Felicia Schwartz, Arian Campo-Flores and Ahmed Al Omran Updated June 13, 2016 1:30 p.m. ET 670 COMMENTS WASHINGTON—President Barack Obama said the shooter in Orlando who killed 49 people and injured 53 others apparently was self-radicalized and didn’t appear to have received external direction.
The shooting appeared to be “an example of homegrown extremism that all of us have been so concerned about,” Mr. Obama said Monday after meeting with security advisers for an update on the attacks.
Mr. Obama noted the man police have identified as the gunman, Omar S. Mateen, purchased a gun legally and was inspired by extremist information disseminated over the internet. Mr. Mateen pledged allegiance to Islamic State “at the last minute,” Mr. Obama said.
“One of the biggest challenges that we are going to have is this kind of propaganda and perversions of Islam that you see generated on the internet, and the capacity for that to seep into the minds of troubled individuals,” Mr. Obama said.
He added: “Countering this extremist ideology is increasingly going to be just as important as making sure that we are disrupting more extensive plots engineered from the outside.”
Mr. Obama also urged people considering how to respond to the attacks to avoid an “either/or” debate about terrorism or gun control and instead to consider addressing both.
The rampage has divided the two presumptive major-party presidential candidates. Hillary Clinton has called for an assault-weapons ban, while Donald Trump said American Muslims must be better scrutinized for signs of radicalization and that Muslim immigration should be stopped.
James Comey, director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, said Mr. Mateen was likely radicalized online, at least in part, and may have been inspired by overseas terrorist groups.
He added that while the shooter’s specific motives remain murky, “There are strong indications of radicalization by this killer and a potential inspiration by foreign terrorist organizations,”
Before the president spoke, Saudi Arabian officials said the alleged gunman had visited the kingdom twice on pilgrimages—in 2011 and again in 2012.
U.S. and Saudi officials aren’t sure yet who Mr. Mateen met with there during his visits or whether the trips were connected to the shooting. Authorities said Mr. Mateen made a 911 call declaring his allegiance to the terrorist group Islamic State before he was shot and killed.

ORLANDO (CBSMiami/AP) – A former co-worker of Orlando shooting suspect Omar Mateen said he was an angry, loud, profane man who used slurs for gay people, blacks, Jews and women.
Mateen was a security guard at the G4S company, which identifies itself on its website as “the leading global integrated security company.”
“He never used other words to describe them,” said Daniel Gilroy, who worked with Mateen at G45, told the Tama Bay Times.
Mateen also regularly made threats of violence, according to Gilroy.
“He talked about killing people all the time,” Gilroy told The New York Times. And Gilroy wasn’t surprised when he learned of the massacre: “I saw it coming.”
Gilroy said Mateen started badgering him and sending dozens of text messages to him daily. Gilroy said he reported Mateen’s behavior to his bosses.
