Hello guys,
An elderly neighbour in my condo was using her computer during an electric storm and it shut off and she can't get it to reboot. She doesn't have (or at least can't find) recovery discs. I have been trying to get it going for her but to no avail. When I get into recovery (F11) it says contact HP support. I managed to do a diagnostic and the HD reported OK but there is no MBR.

Tried installing an iso burned to disc but I believe the download was compromised. Got so far then hung on expanding files.

Any ideas for a work around. Local shops want more than her computer is worth. She is prepared to lose all data for a working copy of win 7 64 bit. She does have the license info but Microsoft won't help because it is a retail version.

Thx Jim K
