Bob, The compromise set is a subset of what Cyrix implemented. Cyrix implementation is a lot richer, more instructions. According to I think Patiend Engineer from AMD thread, Cyrix implementation is better thought through. I don't think Cyrix will remove it from the silicon at this point. It will just be siting there unused until somome writes software to take advantage of it. It may in fact happen. The title of the MXi article is "The ultimate gaming machine" Joe
