Inconvenient Truths and True Rumors About Orlando
By Steve Berman | June 14, 2016, 11:43am | @lifeofgrace224

It’s rumored that Orlando shooter Omar Mateen was a terrorist. It’s rumored he may have followed Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. It’s rumored he pledged allegiance to ISIS. It’s rumored he was married and had a son.

But it’s a fact that Mateen was a closeted gay man, bitter about the inner conflict with the religion of his father. It’s a fact that he was a regular at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando. It’s a fact that he was mentally unstable and even bipolor. It’s a fact that there’s no connection between Mateen and ISIS or any other terrorist group.

If you believe the media narrative.

All the evidence that Mateen was gay has come out inside the last 24 hours, as people crawl out of the woodwork to give their account. The media states these heresay, unproven arguments as fact: “Omar Mateen lived a double life,” while calling him a “homophobic maniac.”

Next we’ll hear from people who claim to have slept with Mateen. You’ll hear from his gay lovers. This will all be fact. I don’t buy it. Unless someone shows me video evidence of Mateen at Pulse as a regular guest, or produces a sex tape of him with a gay lover, it’s basically one person’s word against a dead man.

The inconvenient rumors–the facts–show that Mateen did pledge allegiance to ISIS in a recorded 911 call.

They show that Mateen was a devoted Muslim who prayed five times a day and attended mosque regularly. They show that ISIS took responsibility for the Orlando shootings.

The group’s official radio station, al-Bayan, said Monday morning that, “Over 100 Crusaders killed and injured after an attack on their gathering at a night club in America.”

“We begin from America, where Allah has enabled brother Omar Mateen, one of the soldiers of the Caliphate in America, to carry out a raid where he was able to infiltrate a Crusaders’ gathering at a gay night club in Orlando, Florida. Allah enabled him to inflict heavy casualties amongst the filthy Crusaders. He killed and injured over a hundred of them. This is the biggest raid to be carried in America after the raid of Manhattan 16 years ago. All praise to Allah.”

But the narrative could not be so–that persecuted American Muslims would act on U.S. soil to kill innocents, who happen to be gay. Because that would mean that two persecuted classes venerated and protected by the left would be in conflict, and the media can’t have that. Their worldview bubble would burst.

So every terror attack in America will be attributed to a “ lone wolf” instead of jihad. The terrorists will be found mentally ill, or gay, or simply reacting to Christians trying to force their beliefs down other people’s throats, or provocations because someone dared to draw Muhammad.

Sorry. I don’t buy it.
