From <<http://www.macosrumors.com/>> today (12-30-97):
"Apple and Adobe to announce stronger partnership?
According to a source close to Apple Computer, there is a strong possibility that during the Macworld Expo next week, Apple and Adobe will go through the motions of reaffirming their close relationship, and unveil something fascinating, along with the expected hubbub about Photoshop 5.0 and the like: a version of the PowerMacintosh G3 which will ship with a complete suite of Adobe multimedia products, as part of a fully-equipped Apple "Media Mac."
This G3 would be a major hit with Graphic Designers, Webmasters, and Desktop Publishers, because it would come preconfigured with a huge array of software ready to begin creating media right out of the box -- and, of course, would be a much better value than having to buy a machine and then all of the software to go with it. This alone shouls give Media authors pause when looking at the Wintel vs. Mac question, because this unique bundling agreement would greatly enhance the benefits of buying a Mac. and virtually eliminates the "there's no software for the Mac" excuse.
If true, this would be a brilliant move on the part of Apple, and no small boon for Adobe, either; the software company still makes a very large chunk of its sales from the Mac arena."
I just KNEW there was a good reason for the jump in ADBE today! ;^)
Happy New Year to all,
