The semantics around border security leave out the obvious because everyone seems to want to reinvent a wheel that has already been invented. It doesn't matter if it is a national border, a regional border, a city border or a jungle village border, the only border security that I've ever seen work pretty well is "a firm and well announced policy that called for shooting the invaders".
