Jlallen, the line between fully automatic and semi-automatic is very, very thin. Like I told Eric, it seems semi-automatic rifles like the AR-15 can achieve a high rate of fire because of its trigger design and relatively low recoil. (I don't know for sure, since I never actually used one.)

Even if we banned fully automatic weapons, I'm aware that semi-automatic weapons can easily be converted into fully automatic, so what's the point other than to make a legal statement after the fact?
