I flip em off too. Here in Chicago we'd have a better government, if it wasn't for the black vote keeping the Machine in power. They get most of the city jobs (Parks, CTA, Post Office, etc) and it keeps them happily voting for Rahm & the machine. I bet it works that way in most of the big cities controlled by machine politics.
