The question is, are semi-automatics needed? I mean, for other than a zombie apocalypse. They aren't needed for hunting, in the days when hunters were more plentiful they did fine with bolt action rifles. They seem to be ok in Australia, which has a vigorous hunting culture. Home defense? Who lives in a Mad Max-style world where dozens of outlaws assault the lone home owner? Plinking bottles or watermelons? What?

Actually, it is a pretty strong argument why things like it should be banned. Not to mention mandatory treatment for their owners if they all feel the way he does. The man sounds dangerous.
